IsleOne brings you news, commentary and all the best places to go on the Isle of Thanet. If you think of the site as news, views and booze, you won’t be far off.

We list bars and restaurants, coffee shops and tea rooms, guest accommodation, holiday lets, shops and hidden gems from around the Isle. If you’re a visitor or if you’ve lived here for years we hope you’ll find something on the site that’s new and exciting.

About our writers

We have some of the Isle’s top online writing talent, including Eastcliff Richard and the Thanet Gannet, giving us the benefit of their opinions.

The site gets updated daily so we strongly recommend you subscribe by RSS.

About our listings

We don’t cover everyone and everything. There are no firm criteria set for what makes it on to the site. We go on personal experience and recommendations in deciding what to list. So if you know somewhere that’s really cool and should definitely be on the site, please let us know. We are particularly interested in getting some more out-of-the-way places listed, the kind of places that no one has heard of but that everyone should know about.

By the way, none of the listings are paid for. We only want to include quality places. IsleOne is about promoting all the best things in Thanet.

About you

If you’ve got any comments on places that are already listed, don’t be afraid to spell them out for everyone else’s benefit. Each listing has a ‘reviews, thoughts, comments’ section where you can add some personal opinion. If you had a good meal somewhere, let everyone know about it. You don’t have to be Jay Rayner to make a recommendation.

We hope you enjoy looking through the site and that you find something to do here. Don’t be shy with your comments and please tell all your friends. If you’re on Twitter, use the retweet button below. If you’re on Facebook, then post a link to this site using the button below. It’s all for the greater good of the Isle of Thanet.
