Eddie Gilbert’s has been awarded Starter of the Year 2010 by Jay Rayner in his round-up of the year in yesterday’s Guardian. He favoured their duck egg and smoked eel soldiers over all the hundreds of other starters he’s gulped down in the course of the last 12 months.
The only problem is that Rayner describes Eddie Gilbert’s as being in Margate. Too much time spent on the One Show sofa ogling the new girl; not enough time fact-checking.
Never mind. It’s still Fannit, innit?
