You could not make it up, you literally could not make it up. Well, you could, but you wouldn’t. If you were going to make something up, you’d make up something much more interesting.
Anyway, according to the Dorset Echo (see, why would you make up that bit?), Hitler planned to invade Britain via Ramsgate. He probably heard it was the new Brighton or something and fancied taking a look.
Obviously, he didn’t quite make it.
So there you are. Just the kind of thing you already knew, or you don’t care about, or you simply don’t believe.
