Hey! You know how you’re always saying you wished there was a really cool market round here? Oh, that wasn’t you?

Well anyway, Margate Old Town are starting up a bazaar and not only could you visit it and buy stuff, you could even be part of it. Yeah?

It starts on on 17th April, 10am, and will take place every Sunday in Market Place – which is perfect for all those culture vultures who’ve bussed it down from “London” to see the gallery. All manner of local sellers and traders will be there selling all manner of goods – homemade and handmade, retro and vintage, fruit and veg, art and crafts, bric and brac.

There’s also an Artist Alley running between the Mayors Parlour and the Museum. This space has been put aside as a casual artist pitch, will run every Sunday, is open to all disciplines and has a concessionary rate for art students and artist jobseekers. Apparently, we heard that the Bazaar organisers would like to see more buskers and performers performing and will be holding free pitch auditions in the near future. All those people from “London” will think they’re back in Covent Garden.

Oh yeah, and you know we said you could be involved? Well, the cost of a pitch starts at a tenner for Artist Alley up to £40 for a pre-erected 10x10ft gazebo. Contact margatebazaar@margateoldtown.co.uk for further details.
