Posillipo
Posillipo is a popular Italian restaurant on the sea front in Broadstairs. They serve proper pizzas from a wood-fired oven, traditional pasta, and you can normally find lobster linguine with a cherry tomato sauce on the specials board.
The food can be terrific – the service less so.
Booking is recommended – Posillipo is busy all year round.

I’m never quite sure what to make of Posillipos. We always really enjoy the food there but I think the service leaves a lot to be desired. They just don’t seem like they care sometimes.
Last week we went. We waited nearly an hour for our main course – it’s not really a problem because we’re quite happy to sit there and drink a glass of wine. But when we mentioned it at the end – to the owner, I might add – he just shrugs like he couldn’t care less.
We weren’t looking for money off or for a grovelling apology but it seems like he could have at least pretended to care. I don’t think the customer comes first at Posillipo.
