After what is now officially known as the Broadstairs Old Town debacle, we’re back on safer ground today with news that Poohole Lane has been restored. Many of you wrote to us in support of our campaign earlier in the year and, in fact, we kicked up quite a stink about Poohole Lane – using up many of our best double entendres in the process.
Thankfully a local vandal has taken matters into his own hands by spraying all over the offending road sign. Admittedly the black paint lacks a certain finesse but who cares? The point is that everyone can now have a little chuckle when they drive past. A little chuckle at the word ‘poohole’. Every. Single. Time.

Please note the following important details about this post:
- The term ‘local vandal’ is a compliment
- We are not suggesting that anyone is a poohole, wherever they’re from
- It is not an ironic attempt to have Poorhole Lane renamed (oh, actually, it is)

You haven’t been given fart blanche on this one Isleone, give it up!
Very good. I can’t trump that.
Bit crap if this is all you can come up with, I was sure readers would be able to squeeze a few more puns out. I’ll follow through the comments later to see
It’s a strain but i thought i’d just squeeze out a comment before dropping the kids off at the pool.
It’s a dangerous road, people go at top speed down the narrow lane and there’s skidmarks everywhere.
Just plopped in again – but its such a crap subject!
Thanks to everyone for their comments. I certainly feel enriched as a result.
