In case you hadn’t heard, someone called The Queen is coming to Margate on Friday. It can’t be to visit the Turner because the gallery is actually closed that day. So just why is The Queen coming to Margate?
Oh, you think the Turner might be closed specially for The Queen? Hmm, hadn’t thought of that.

I just think you have gone too far this time. The Queen is an old lady and you need to do respect.
Thanks “Tony”. Coming from someone who has spent their life going too far, I’ll take that as a compliment.
This is disrespectful and in extremely poor taste. It should be removed asap. Finally Margate is getting some recognition for the great town that it is with the Queen’s visit and the Olympic Torch Relay next year. Why can’t you be pleased for the Town instead of posting this rubbish.
Thanks Justine. We’ve always held Margate to be a great town and this site is all about promoting the area as a whole. We’re extremely pleased to see the town getting recognised.
Do you think the post is disrespectful to the Queen or to Margate? I don’t see why the Queen can’t enjoy a pea fritter as much as the next person.
I’ll say one thing for Her Majesty she maybe a DFL but at least she goes back at the end of the day!

Why the need for swearing? Very poor taste.
Good taste has no place here.
I love pea fritters too – we can’t get them in Broadstairs.
And how long do you have to be here before you don’t count as DFL? What exactly is wrong with DFLs? I’m a DFM (down from the Midlands) – is that worse?
Hmmmmmmm made me smile but I am not sure about the swearing
I see there are quite a few people concerned about the swearing. IMHO you are being a little hard on HRH; she is bound by protocol, etiquette and ceremony in almost every area of her life. How refreshing that she felt relaxed enough in Margate to let her hair down (metaphorically speaking, natch), neck some pea fritters and have a little swear. I, for one, am proud of her regal earthiness.
This is the kind of thing that I might have thought amusing and daring when I was in the second form.
