Shop Local

Sunday, October 3rd, 2010

Hello there. It’s Shop Local week this week on IsleOne. Shop Local? What’s that? Well, that’s what we’d like to know.

Apparently, it’s some kind of scheme to encourage people to, um, shop locally. But is it actually working? If you are a retailer involved in the scheme, a consumer who uses the scheme (or not), or you’ve simply wandered in here by mistake, we would like to know what you think. Either leave a comment on this page or contact us here.

Some of the questions we’d like answers for include:

  • Have you ever heard of Shop Local?
  • Do you know what it is? (Admittedly, we have pretty much told you the answer to this already).
  • Have you ever used Shop Local?
  • Do you know what offers are on at the moment?
  • Why don’t people shop locally? (Westwood Cross doesn’t count as ‘local’).
  • Is it because there’s no parking?
  • Is it because the shops are always closed?
  • Or is it because all the shops are just crap and don’t actually sell anything you need, like jetpacks?

Let us know what you think – you never know, it might actually make a difference.
