Thanet Gannet IsleOne

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

The Thanet Gannet, the area’s premier gourmand (fat bloke), has been coaxed on to the IsleOne team with little more than the promise of a mint choc chip cone. “Butter me up with a 99” were his exact words.

The Gannet has been eating food all his life and writing about food in Thanet for the last 12 months on his blog. He also writes regularly for the Isle of Thanet Gazette.

As part of his quest for good food, the Gannet has reviewed many of the restaurants featured on IsleOne and you can now find links to his reviews on the listings pages.

Better still, the Gannet will be writing exclusive content for IsleOne. We’re looking forward to hearing more about his quest for the best bacon sandwich in Thanet, his views on food and the local tourist industry, where to find the best curry, which beach kiosks offer the best grub, his favourite restaurants in Ramsgate, Margate, Broadstairs. And that’s just for breakfast.

Bacon sarnies, I am drooling at the thought of one of Ross’s at the Botany Bay Kiosk. He cooks fantastic Bacon Sarnies and the beach and the chalk stacks are the perfect place to sit on a summer day. I wish he was open all year but on a minus 2 day and december even I wouldn’t brave it. I cant wait till he opens in April so lets hope the weather is good enough for him to open.

Anything to stop you drooling, Don.
