Thanet has now officially been in more top tens than The Beatles. This is confirmed by a story from the This Is Surrey Today website, which incorporates the Dorking Advertiser (surely advertising for dorking is illegal in this day and age).
Apparently Thanet is in the top 10 places in the south east for people to buy a second home. And yes, these top tens are becoming increasingly tenuous (except, obviously, Frommer’s view of Thanet as top ten holiday destination worldwide). And yes, all those people buying second homes here are making it more difficult for local people to buy houses themselves. And yes, community life is likely to suffer. And towns will just become even deader during the week… and local people will be forced to move to new housing estates…
Hmm. Well, at least we’re in the top ten of it.
